Kim McOwan is a Salem, Massachusetts interior design professional who has driven operations at Charette Interior Design, Ltd., since 2009. In her position as principal and lead interior designer, Salem resident Kim McOwan is responsible for developing the design direction for all interior projects. She also negotiates contracts, defines project scope and budget, and sources custom materials, lighting and furnishings.
Between 2022 and 2024, Ms. McOwan additionally worked as the interior creative director and senior interior designer at Treehouse Design, Inc., in Rockport, near Salem. She managed a range of design responsibilities in her role with the custom home design/ build company. She previously served as a senior interior designer at Carpenter and MacNeille in Essex, where she designed luxury residential properties.
Ms. McOwan studied psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she also minored in English literature. Additionally, she holds an interior and environmental design certificate from UCLA Extension's FIDER accredited program. In her free time, she enjoys staying active through hiking and yoga.
